CELEBRATION TIME ..............

It's thanksgiving long weekend for Canada and that means party time.....This year though has a little more to it, well it coincides with our city's 100th birthday so the city has been buzzing!

Couple days ago, I've organized a thanksgiving pot luck lunch at work and we had it this morning at 4 am (yup that's my lunch time coz we work @ midnight) and I'm proud to say it was a success coz my co-worker are already talking about doing it again for x'mas hmmm something to look forward to!

My in-laws are here too for the weekend and we're having turkey yey, if they didn't showed up I was just planning on making chicken since it's just gonna be me and hubby but now that they're here we decided to have that big bird and at the same time invited a couple of friends for this Sunday dinner. Oh well what's thanksgiving without a turkey right?

ARIZIA UPDATE: There's no stopping her now, she grows like a weed everyday :D and she's just so pretty I just can't get enough of her! She seem to have a knack with musical instruments, right now she can play a flute, we just gave it to her to play with and then suddenly after 2 days there she is blowing that wind pipe instrument with all her might but of course she can't make an actual music yet but at the rate she's going i think it wouldn't take her long!! The other thing that she enjoys is the organ piano we borrowed from my brother-in-law, she'll sit in front of it and just starts playing! She likes watching commercials too, funny how kids just stop from whatever they're doing as soon as they heard that jingle from a TV advertisement!

So with that said, I'd like to greet all Edmontonians a Happy 100th Birthday!!! Have a safe and good thanksgiving Canadians!!! Party Time.....

THANK GOODNESS for CAR ALARM

I have been greatful of what some modern technology has done to us. Well right now I'm most thankful for car alarm.....2 days ago our car got broken into but thank goodness nothing was taken because the alarm went off even before they got the chance of taking anything. It happened in downtown area where hubby works. He parked the car a few blocks away that day and unfortunately someone tried to break into it. They smashed the back window, unlocked the door then, goes the alarm which probably stopped them abruptly, they must have ran as soon as it went off without they're loot heheh fortunately for us.... There was nothing really valuable inside our vehicle, the only thing i could think of is my baby's booster car seat and her jogging stroller, our sunglasses and a few loose change not more than $10 which is hidden in a tiny drawer on the dashboard. Well I guess if they got the car seat and stroller they can easily sell it for $100-150 easy since it's still fairly new, well the car alarm saved the day yeheyy :D in which I'm so thankful, at least the only thing we have to worry about now is getting the window fix.

On a lighter note: Well ber months just started, if you're in the Philippines you'll probably worrying about Christmas already. Well we tend to celebrate it as soon as September starts :D. I guess we make the most out of it. Even the radio stations start playing Christmas songs on the last day of August, no kidding!!! Well here in Canada we're still on a summer mood. School has just started, the last long weekend is being celebrated and with that goes the last opportunity for barbecues and party! Well, guess what! Last night we just got snowed :( ................on September...............!!!! We still haven't got to autumn yet and now we have to worry bout winter??? Hmmm old man winter seems to want to give us a taste of what it's gonna be like this year huh.....Ahhh makes me want to hibernate!!!!

I'm Back...... to work that is!!!

August has been such a chaotic if not crazy month for us this year....it started with my baby's 1st b-day, then move in to our new place which i will blog about later then i went back to work after a year of parental leave.

I work midnight 'til 8 am and i'm still trying to get back on that routine and yeah it's been hard! Coming home from work is already a struggle since it's a rush hour and 30 minutes driving didn't help either. Well there's no one else to blame but me since i'm the one who chose to work on that time anyways.......my reason, well first we need to have someone to look after our baby since we can't afford or rather not send her to daycare we decided to take shifts taking care of her, second is i like driving at night 'coz it's less traffic which means less stress, third reason is i get an extra day off every 3 months by working nights, fourth is, if i need to do an errands i will still have time to finish it and still go to work afterwards, and lastly i get to keep my weekends off!!! Why, because i work for the post office and even though we don't deliver mails on weekends we still sort mails so we have to have the plant open for the weekends and people who works days and evening shifts still has to work on those days.....

So far it's been smooth sailing, my co-workers have been very supportive. The other thing i'm so glad about is the support that hubby gave me. He drives me to work and pick me up if he's not working and let me sleep while he takes care of our daughter! thanks hunny ........

It's been a heck of a month but somehow we're managing but i'm afraid i won't be blogging much....I will surely miss my pals from alimasags but i will still try to keep my self updated every now and then! For now i just want to thanks those people who still frequented my blog eventhough i'm not around much. Have an awesome day everyone!!!

finally find time to make an entry, but afraid it's gonna be a short one....been busy packing coz in 2 days time will be moving out of our apartment and start anew in our new home!!! ooh i like the sound of it!! nothing much happens this week, we even missed the klondike and decided to go next year so i guess summer will be cut short for us this year...don't know if i'll still be able to blog as much as i'd like to but i will be going back to work on the 10th, my one year parental leave is finally over :big cry:!!!

Chronicles of our Getaway

we got home last night at 10pm from our camping trip during the weekend! man it was tiring as a matter of fact we just slept all day today, even hubby missed work coz he was really tired with all that driving but it was also nice to be away from the city noises and pollutions!

first day: we left friday all 14 of us in 3 vehicles ( a truck and 2 SUV's) @ 4pm , yeah rush hour so the drive there was a bit long and have to go to Calgary to pick up a friend's cousin.  we got there in Banff almost 10 and it's starting to get dark. we even got lost looking for that darn campsite; first try was full, second one has showers but not allow u to have a fire so our "leader" decided to go to the site with fire but no showers, arrghh imagine that!!!   so we got to the site and had to pitch our tent in a hurry (oh it gets darker here around 11pm on summer by the way) and mosquitoes were everywhere i guess it's worse this summer from all that rain! after we got the tent and the fire going, some roasted hotdogs and that's what we had for dinners. my baby seem to be taking it well coz she was still up and about at around 12 am, just don't know where she gets all that energy!

second day: drive down another 45 minutes to lake louise. what a pretty sight! i already been there once but again it amazes me how breathtaking it is. a lake that is sorrounded by rocky mountains....hubby and every body went canoeing in the lake while me and arizia stay and walk around the hotel, even saw a friend from philippines and chat for a little while to catch up on things. after that had lunch then another 30 minutes drive to jonhston canyon for our hiking, me n hubby went only to the lower falls and the rest of the group continued to the upper falls (another 1 hr hike) ahhh it was really pretty even arizia just want to jump off her stroller into the water but it was cold, not cool but cold!   on our way back there was this chipmunk that wasn't afraid of people so hubby fed him with morsels of bread that we had and took picture of him, it was really cute even my baby was screaming coz she wants to pet it; we had ice cream after wards and then 2 of our friends showed up coz they couldn't go on any longer so we just sat under the bridge by the water while waiting for them which my baby enjoyed very much!!! after waiting for an hour and no one is showing up we decided to head back to camp and just left a note on their windshield!

around 11 that night me n hubby decided to sneak in to the neighboring campsite to their shower,   a park ranger patrolling stopped and asked if he can help us so we pretend we're just going for an evening walk :D hah!!! well it was worth going trouble for coz we can't stand going on another day without a shower....then off to bed fresh :grin:

last day of camp: got up at 9 am, started packing and went to town....had brunch at phil's restaurant, had pictures taken at the Banff's Canada Place, little window shopping here and there then headed home! finally, our own bed, showers and real food, NOT! after dropping the cousin in Calgary and a quick stop by in krispy kreme,   the other vehicle (jeep cherokee) who decided to go home ahead gave our "leader" a call and told him her jeep broke down around airdrie bout 45 minutes from where we are. so we had to rescue her and stayed there on the highway for about 2 hrs.   they tried fixing it but there's only so much they can do. oh the whole time i was worried for my baby because vehicles passing by going 120-140 at least on a 110 imagine that.   finally they just decided to wait for the tow truck and stayed in a hotel so the rest can go home!

it was the longest trip i've ever been to but no complain since i've learn a lot from it....i just hope the next time will be better than the last!

It's been more than a week since the last time I posted ahh days seems to go by so fast. We've been all over the city trying to get everything done such as getting boxes fom friends to continue packing our stuff, visiting friends and relatives and preparing for baby's birthday, and this weekend we'll be out of town! We're going to Banff, Alberta 5 hrs. drive from here, we'll be going camping together with some of our friends. It's gonna be good just to be away from the city eventhough it'll be just for 3 days.

I have nothing much to blog about or rather my mind doesn't seem to be working right now so I'll probably post more next time!!! I just hope everybody will find time to take a break from their hectic and taxing jobs!!!

that is a part of Rod Stewart's song which describes how i felt with my husband the very first time we got together.... i am writing this entry as a tribute to my beloved better half who is also known as Steven. he's been good eversince and i have been lucky to have him. a man who always surprises me with little things, never fails to show in both actions and words how much he loves me and cares for me, a very responsible father, and with such endless talents. sometimes i wonder what did i do to deserve such blessings, oh and i never forget to thank the Good Lord for giving him to me!!!! he's been my best friend, my lover, always knows the right thing to say, comforts me when i'm feeling low, listens to all my blahs, praise me when i'm doing something right, always sees the best in me and love me for who i am....

i remember the time when i always cry just because a relationship with someone didn't turn out the way i want it to be....it always happen one after the other until i almost give up..... now looking back i'm glad and thankful that i didn't end up with any of those guys, coz if i did i would have never met my man....

hubby and i met at work and that moment we both knew we'll gonna be husband and wife, don't know how to explain it but somehow we just knew right there and then that we are destined to be together forever!!! he was the missing piece in my puzzle of life, i am very happy to have found him....i vowed to love him for always and this ring that he put in my finger on our wedding day is a reminder of how much lucky i am for being his wife!!! I LOVE YOU Steven Deleeuw for now...forever!!!

first off my tag board is finally working yeheyyy...finally found time to do it!!

we run out of boxes so packing was stop in a halt!! o well we'll just gonna have to wait until we pick up some more boxes from a friend who just recently move into her new place, good thing she save her boxes and offerred it to us ( thanks Di ur a saviour:D )...

it's gonna be a busy 3 weeks ahead; 1. baby shower for a co-worker (July 23), 2. klondike days (July 22-31) 3. my niece's birthday (August 1) 4. heritage days ( July 30-August 1) 5. moving day (August 2) 6. and of course my baby's first b-day party (August 7).... i dunno if we'll be able to go to the festivals (klondike and heritage) but i'm hoping we could at least spare a day each to see it since it's once a year festivities and summer only last for 3 months i really want to get the most of it!!!

Arizia has becoming more and more confident with herself, she stands longer than she used to and can do 3 or more steps now maybe she'll be walking on her birthday i hope...

as my baby is getting closer to her 1st birthday, my going back to work is getting nearer.... :( *sigh* if only i could just stay at home and be with my baby but that's imposibble right now...i can only wish!!!

to blog or not to blog that is the question :D !!! i haven't been posting anything since there isn't much going on around here except packing and getting ready to move out....well we have at least 3 more weeks and we're out in here, whew seems a long way away if you'll ask me. i haven't updated tag board yet cause i haven't had much time to do it anyways maybe after all the moving and my baby's birthday party i'll find some time! *fingers cross*

we'll gonna have to go to the mall after hubby get off work today, we need stuff for Arizia's party and i want it to get done asap cause i still have to sew her party dress!!! i receive the package 3 days ago that my mom sent me from Pinas, finally. i have been waiting for it! She sent me the give aways for the party, photos and quite a few dresses for my baby unfortunately only 2 fits her, the rest are still big maybe she can wear it next year...

my dad sent me an email again, he was so happy seeing his grandaughter's picture that i've sent him at his work....they can't wait to see her and i can't wait to see them too *sigh*...we really wanna go back home soon but right now it's not gonna be possible, we'll just gonna have to wait until everything is settled maybe next year?!? maybe.....

it's been a long 2 weeks! we finally got the house yessss so possesion date is on the 2nd of august we're now busy packing and can't wait to move out of here. august seem to be a big month for us; we got married august 2002, had arizia august 2003 and this coming august the house, wow perfect 3 things to clebrate on that month!!!

the weather has been nice lately or should i say really hot,hot,hot the reason we went to the legislature's wading pool monday plus i baby sat my 2 cousins (Josh,10 and Jenna,9) so we had fun but my baby had a fever after i dunno if it's because it was too hot or too much exposure to cold water. she seems fine now but it was scary cause she never had a fever before especially that her first birthday is coming up we don't want anything serious to happen to our princess.

we also had our federal election monday and we went to vote right after wading in the lagislature...
result: Liberal Party won again....and people say they want changes hmmmmm!

hubby will have his final interview on the 5th and hope everything will turn out alright so he can leave his present job which he's starting to dislike, i know i'll leave that job in a second too if ever i am in his position, handling (idiotic) customers on the phone all day *sigh*....'

oh well.... by the way to all Canadians out there, Happy Canada Day!!!

jaz pick up my leter of employment form HR office at work. we'll gonna need it as a referrence for credit check which is a mandatory if you're buying a house! ahh my head seems like spinning so fast with all this things happening i can't seem to catch up with it and it's giving me a headache! sana matapos na to soon without any problem *wishing mode*...we've been working on it and this saturday is the inspection to make sure everything is functioning normally; the hotwater tank, gas heater, electrical, plumbing etc. hope nothing major will come up coz it such a nice house, big kitchen, huge backyard and a french door leading to the balcony. can't wait! i could see my daughter or maybe few more kids growing up in it playing in the yard or hanging out in the balcony sipping lemonade on summer days ah what a sight huh =)!

among other things Arizia is getting more and more confident with standing longer and she can do one step before flopping on the floor oh she's growing prettier everyday.....with that i'll close this entry and hope evryone will have a lovely day!!!
