* Saturday, October 09, 2004 * Couple days ago, I've organized a thanksgiving pot luck lunch at work and we had it this morning at 4 am (yup that's my lunch time coz we work @ midnight) and I'm proud to say it was a success coz my co-worker are already talking about doing it again for x'mas hmmm something to look forward to! My in-laws are here too for the weekend and we're having turkey yey, if they didn't showed up I was just planning on making chicken since it's just gonna be me and hubby but now that they're here we decided to have that big bird and at the same time invited a couple of friends for this Sunday dinner. Oh well what's thanksgiving without a turkey right? ARIZIA UPDATE: There's no stopping her now, she grows like a weed everyday :D and she's just so pretty I just can't get enough of her! She seem to have a knack with musical instruments, right now she can play a flute, we just gave it to her to play with and then suddenly after 2 days there she is blowing that wind pipe instrument with all her might but of course she can't make an actual music yet but at the rate she's going i think it wouldn't take her long!! The other thing that she enjoys is the organ piano we borrowed from my brother-in-law, she'll sit in front of it and just starts playing! She likes watching commercials too, funny how kids just stop from whatever they're doing as soon as they heard that jingle from a TV advertisement! So with that said, I'd like to greet all Edmontonians a Happy 100th Birthday!!! Have a safe and good thanksgiving Canadians!!! Party Time..... * Friday, September 24, 2004 * to my li'l bro AWEL, happy 27th birthday!!! wishing you all the best in life.......i just wish i'm there to celebrate it with you! have fun on your special day... xox * Thursday, September 09, 2004 * I have been greatful of what some modern technology has done to us. Well right now I'm most thankful for car alarm.....2 days ago our car got broken into but thank goodness nothing was taken because the alarm went off even before they got the chance of taking anything. It happened in downtown area where hubby works. He parked the car a few blocks away that day and unfortunately someone tried to break into it. They smashed the back window, unlocked the door then, goes the alarm which probably stopped them abruptly, they must have ran as soon as it went off without they're loot heheh fortunately for us.... There was nothing really valuable inside our vehicle, the only thing i could think of is my baby's booster car seat and her jogging stroller, our sunglasses and a few loose change not more than $10 which is hidden in a tiny drawer on the dashboard. Well I guess if they got the car seat and stroller they can easily sell it for $100-150 easy since it's still fairly new, well the car alarm saved the day yeheyy :D in which I'm so thankful, at least the only thing we have to worry about now is getting the window fix.
On a lighter note: Well ber months just started, if you're in the Philippines you'll probably worrying about Christmas already. Well we tend to celebrate it as soon as September starts :D. I guess we make the most out of it. Even the radio stations start playing Christmas songs on the last day of August, no kidding!!! Well here in Canada we're still on a summer mood. School has just started, the last long weekend is being celebrated and with that goes the last opportunity for barbecues and party! Well, guess what! Last night we just got snowed :( ................on September...............!!!! We still haven't got to autumn yet and now we have to worry bout winter??? Hmmm old man winter seems to want to give us a taste of what it's gonna be like this year huh.....Ahhh makes me want to hibernate!!!! * Monday, August 23, 2004 * I'm Back...... to work that is!!!
August has been such a chaotic if not crazy month for us this year....it started with my baby's 1st b-day, then move in to our new place which i will blog about later then i went back to work after a year of parental leave. I work midnight 'til 8 am and i'm still trying to get back on that routine and yeah it's been hard! Coming home from work is already a struggle since it's a rush hour and 30 minutes driving didn't help either. Well there's no one else to blame but me since i'm the one who chose to work on that time anyways.......my reason, well first we need to have someone to look after our baby since we can't afford or rather not send her to daycare we decided to take shifts taking care of her, second is i like driving at night 'coz it's less traffic which means less stress, third reason is i get an extra day off every 3 months by working nights, fourth is, if i need to do an errands i will still have time to finish it and still go to work afterwards, and lastly i get to keep my weekends off!!! Why, because i work for the post office and even though we don't deliver mails on weekends we still sort mails so we have to have the plant open for the weekends and people who works days and evening shifts still has to work on those days..... So far it's been smooth sailing, my co-workers have been very supportive. The other thing i'm so glad about is the support that hubby gave me. He drives me to work and pick me up if he's not working and let me sleep while he takes care of our daughter! thanks hunny ........ It's been a heck of a month but somehow we're managing but i'm afraid i won't be blogging much....I will surely miss my pals from alimasags but i will still try to keep my self updated every now and then! For now i just want to thanks those people who still frequented my blog eventhough i'm not around much. Have an awesome day everyone!!! |
